This bike was made after being inspired by other internet ideas like the French porteur and randonneurs. I used a Schwinn Frontier frame and fork and had some heavy duty racks welded on. In the 2 years that I rode back and forth to work it went through many revisions. Finally ending up cut into pieces after I tried to change the spacing of the rear triangle to accommodate a Sturmey Archer hub. The rear rack transferred the bending forces unpredictably and I was not able to get it right. I have since built three other commuter bikes which I will post later when I have more time.
